Follow up: Deborah Halvorson’s GOA grade

David:

They list candidate votes on their site. She voted against them 7 out of 7 times, including on the national parks gun ban.

Well, the real question is do these votes accurately predict a candidates attitudes towards the Second Amendment, or are they votes with which the GOA simply does not agree?

Looking at their criteria, I’d say most of the issues they gread a candidate on are related to gun control only in the fevered imagination of the GOA membership.

  2. Sebastian Says:

So it would seem I was wrong about them not explaining their grades. But now that they have explained them, they seem to be even more of a fraud than I thought previously. Obamacare? Bailout? These have what to do with guns?

  3. Britt Says:

If Obamacare stands it will eventually have to do with guns. They’ll be restricted on health grounds by the benevolent State.

Not that I agree with GOA including them in the ratings. Personally I think bills with gun language and votes on anti-gun judges should count. GOA seems to rate the way liberals apply the Commerce Clause: with a butterfly effect level standard.

  4. Ron W Says:

Every postcard I send to my elected officials from GOA has to do first and foremost with the RKBA. But if you prefer the NRA way, stay with them. I do prefer an organization which is Constitutionalist in its approach rather than only focusing on one right. But let’s all work together to protect gun rights and all of our rights through whatever organization that suits us. All of our liberties stand or fall together.

It’s them vs. us, not us against each other.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
