No jurisdiction over foreign manufacturers

The U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals has affirmed the dismissal of a products liability lawsuit for “lack of personal jurisdiction” over the affiliate of a now defunct Italian firearms manufacturer.

    The case does not really match the headline. There is no personal jurisdiction over the defendant Italian company mainly because the plaintiff could not prove that they could have manufactured the defective part(s).
