One of the people murdered by Palestinian Authority terrorists Tuesday used to carry a gun for self-defense, but Israeli authorities took away his permit in late 2009 – leaving him defenseless.

Well he obeyed the law! And the law got him killed.
That’s the way authoritarian governments work. They don’t give a fig for YOU, just for their government. It is not really far from communism where the ‘state is everything, the individual is nothing’.
And that is why I would not want to live in Israel. The country itself is a straitjacket with not all that much freedom (but way ahead of any other country in the Middle East.)
