“If people bothered to read as opposed to getting their news from the ‘Tea Party Times,'” Lyle said Friday, “they would understand and see that there is more harm done by the proliferation of handguns than there is benefit.”
Really? Here in Wyoming we have one of the largest percentages of gun owners of any state in the USA, a “proliferation”. Yet violent crime here is very low and home invasions almost unheard of.
What is it that people should bother to read to “understand” about how harmful gun ownership is, the brady site? Yeah, right.
When an editorial board researches the past editorials of locales that just passed pro-gun laws, or had anti-gun laws struck down, almost 100% of those prior editorials will read just about like what the Sun editorial writers came up with: PSH, hand wringing for the chillllllldren!!!!, and predictions of DodgeCityStreetsRunningWithBlood OMG!!!!
How could one expect the editorialists to buck such a universal editorial trend? Except of course by actually reading anything written recently in a peer-reviewed article about failures of gun control. That might be expecting too much, I suppose.

Ahhh, the lamentations of their women!
We are coming Sun-Times, we are coming to steal your women, rape your camels and force you to own guns.
