I just went to the Ruger site, took the survey and then started browsing.

Liked the SR-9c, watched the videos.
OMG!!! Watch the second video. I think all of the gang-bangers and mall ninjas just found their next gun!

    Thanx Ruger, not!

I’ve said it before; if you don’t already know what people will want, you may be in the wrong business.

I’ve mentioned before the “Committee Model” brass instruments made by Martin. The idea was that a committee of the absolute best players of the time could get together and pool their ideas to create the “ultimate” musical instrument. They tried it and it never went anywhere. You’re hard pressed to ever see one in all your life, ’cause they sold so few.

See; players are not mechanical technicians, first off, and they tend to have conflicting ideas of what’s “best” anyway.

To Wit; J. M. Browning didn’t take a poll or hire a committee. I doubt Stoner or Kalashnikov did either. Shall we continue? Mozart didn’t take a poll, he? Beethoven didn’t take a poll, and I doubt Henry Ford took a poll. For that matter; did Bill Ruger take a poll before he and Sturm came out with that .22 pistol?

Besides; do you want to know what people who fill out on-line polls think is cool, or would you rather know what actual Ruger buyers will buy? I doubt that the overlap constitutes the majority of the two groups. And the next big cool thing I’M going to buy, I probably haven’t imagined (that’s the designer’s job, not mine).

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
