Unpossible

Gang members are not building machine guns. Why would they do that if they can go right to a gun show loophole and buy them? That’s what the press tells me they do. A couple things:

It’s simple, easy to do and its illegal. San Antonio gang members have a new hobby: Turning rifles into automatic weapons.

Maybe. Some guns are quite difficult to turn automatic, like an AR-15. Need a milling machine and knowledge of how to. Some are quite easy and can be converted with a shoestring. And this is just pathetic:

These rifles were not born this way. Each one has been altered, re-configured and and converted –.to kill.

    Fixed

Your opening line is wrong, Uncle.

Wow. The hyperbole is so thick I could walk across the Rio Grande on it!

They did manage a hat-trick, though. In addition to the “easily converted to automatic” canard, they remembered to hit both the Mexican Gun Canard and the Gun Show Loophole.

My clients tell me that an AK-47 (Type 56 from PRC) can be hard in parts of Mexico for $50 USD and a couple of chickens. Hand grenades can be had for a box of eggs.

I’ll bet you a carton of eggs that none of those guns that the cops claim were “machine guns” were fired on full auto. It must be budget time in Saint Tony’s.

Now why can’t an AR15 be converted to auto by simply cutting the little grabby part off the disconnector? Or would this just cause the rifle to run through the entire magazine before stopping?

  6. SayUncle Says:

yes. and it might fire out of battery.

  7. Ry Jones Says:

last time this came up, I pointed out that you just need a drill press and an FCG to convert an ar15; the drill press is widely available and the FCGs are often sold at gun shows.

you just need to drill the magic hole; most modern lowers are “low shelf” lowers. You’d only need a mill on high shelf lowers, which are not very popular.

Hell just look at a Sten Gun. Can’t be too hard to MAKE a Machine Gun from bar-stock and sheet metal.

    Just sayin’

Hell just look at a Sten Gun.

Or a PPS… built in Leningrad when they couldn’t even feed themselves.

Good rifles aren’t made, they’re born.

Also, they couldn’t kill before? In that case, it sounds like they were fixed.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
