Safe or secure?

    Another option is to add a dead-bolt to a closet. It is a quick fix if you can’t get a safe.

    I agree with his post. I did not have a safe until I had a FFL-Then it was necessary. All of my go-to guns are hidden, not in a safe, if not on me! I don’t have kids, but if I know they are coming by, the guns just get hidden higher. If I go on vacation all guns go into the safe(bolted to the floor through 4″ of concrete) before I had a safe they just got locked in the trunk of my car in the garage. Insurance will cover them.

    That may work to keep the guns away from children, but it isn’t going to help you against thieves, especially if the closet door is a typical hollow-core interior door. You can get through one of those with a single good kick.
