Drivers

Thoughts on how self-defense and competition are driving the gun market.

Don’t know why the big orgs can’t see this. Competitors practice more and put more rounds down range than hunters. I shot 15 rounds at coyotes this winter and went through 100 in a short practice session for competition just the other night, and 400 in a match the previous weekend. That wears out guns and parts and sends folks looking for accessories that will help them shoot better. Shotgunning has been doing that for what, 70 years? The national trap shooting championships go for a week with thousands of shooters putting hundreds of rounds, each, downrange. I know a stock fitter who booked 80% of his year’s work during that one week. I doubt the South Dakota and Iowa pheasant seasons combined see as many rounds fired.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
