Like a whole other country

Couple of Tennessee good ol’ boys are driving through New Jersey. They get stopped and one, forgetting he was in New Jersey, decides to tell the cops that he has a gun but he has a permit. A permit not honored there. And ammunition that NJ has banned. And he may have gotten away with that if he found a gun friendly cop willing to look the other way. Except for that whole part about having weed in the car too.

“Why officer, that’s just bluegrass! We do something different with it and call it Tennessee Weed instead of bluegrass, though.”

    Stupid is as stupid does.

Having weed in the car in Texas won’t excuse you period. But then, I bet he smokes that weed and well, his judgement was ‘clouded’, you might say.

Well, to bad. That’s New Jersey, what did he expect?

Medical mary jane was just made legal there. He should pulled out his gun and shot himself in the foot.

  5. Xrlq Says:

Did he have a permit for the weed, too?

Why did the Dukes of Hazzard theme song just start running through my head?

It was the posession of the weed that made the hollow-points illegal. Otherwise, they’re no more or less illegal to posess than a handgun (which is good, since I can’t find any non-hp jacketed/plated .22 on the shelves right now for some silly reason – if they were illegal to posess I’d be in quite the pickle given the contents of my range bag and magazines). Reminder, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey polices the NYC tunnels, and flagrantly ignore FOPA – if your travel plans include anyplace policed by the Port Authority and the transport of firearms, change them. Also, comply with FOPA – which these Einsteins weren’t.

Same for the handcuffs charge – BTW; they’re not illegal per se, but the law is actually greyer on them than on the hollow-points (which merely have the same posession restrictions as if you had a handgun without a carry permit or a longarm without a FID). Both of those are pile-on charges.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
