We all think your little prank is funny until you start beating on people

So, what gun for flash mob?

  1. Skullz Says:

Unfortunately, even though the mob may resemble zombies, they are still barely human and rule 4 definately comes into play.

No gun, I vote chain whip backed up by a stun gun or 2.

  2. Jeff the Baptist Says:

This is what 12 gauge riot guns were made for. I would think 20 people beating on an individual would constitute a large enough threat of bodily harm and force disparity to use it too. But then I don’t live in Philadelphia.

  3. Weer'd Beard Says:

    M3 Grease gun!

  4. dustydog Says:

I would have thought ‘flash mob’ went against all human nature – natural laziness and procrastination, natural inclination to avoid danger, natural inclination toward cynicism. What motivates the formation of these flash mobs? I speculate sex/drugs/money, but I don’t see how.

  5. TomcatsHanger Says:

Flame Thrower for entertainment sake, belt fed anything for not setting yourself on fire.

  6. Mikee Says:

Well, your question is ambiguous. Am I part of the flash mob, or am I fighting against it?

If I am part of the flash mob, any concealed handgun will do. I don’t want to be scaring anyone in or out of the crowd with a gun in plain sight.

If I am fighting against a flash mob, or setting up a defense against one, I’d want a layered defense of walls or barricades, repellants (tear gas, sewage ponds filled with hog farm runoff, fire hoses, load speakers playing that shrieking noise I’ve seen cruise ships use, antipersonnel microwave generators, pepper balls and rubber bullets), and then and only then lethal force. And the lethal force would start with sniping capabilities to remove leadership elements (the first ones past the first defenses) and then evolve into crowd eliminators, like riot guns, flamethrowers, and the ever popular Claymore mines.

Having been caught several times in large crowds that I did not want to be a part of (a Nixon rally on a hot day in ’68 comes to mind) I now use avoidance more than any other tool.

  7. Mikee Says:

And video. You want to be able to prosecute those who are disorderly in public, and you want to be able to enjoy the look on their faces as the hog waste is sprayed on them.

  8. mariner Says:

    A flash gun, of course.

    😉

  10. ATLien Says:

If you know about flash mobs, you know these erm…urban youths…are doing it wrong. If 150 people show up with props and recreate the end of The Empire Strikes Back, or, more famously, show up and dance to their ipods silently at Penn Station- THAT’S a flash mob.

This is a bunch typical dumbass erm…disenfranchised youth…who decided to show up and act out their culture in the streets, and as usual when 3 or more of these whatchamacallits get together, of course someone starts shooting or fighting.

In other words, this is a bag of assholes.

  11. RosieRac Says:

ATLien – that’s what I thought too. The flash mob in Philly was more like a riot than a flash mob. They are supposed to do something when they get to the location to be a proper flash mob.

  12. DC Handgun Info Says:

How about pepper spray (police grade OC) followed by withering fire of Nerf(R) projectiles fired from a GE Mini-gun? Or even better “instant banana peel”? (1967 video: http://videos.howstuffworks.com/hsw/16622-1967-instant-banana-peel-video.htm

  13. comatus Says:

Jeff, Baptist: Real riot guns aren’t 12 gauge. “Greeners” (that’s penitentiary patois) were eights and tens. At the Alexandria arsenal the Brits had fours and sixes (I presume thse were black powder and muzzle loaded, but, still). Them’s fer yer real riots.

  14. emdfl Says:

Depends on where it forms. In the unarmed cities of the lib states, I suspect any pistol would suffice as after the firsat shot was fired the flash mob would rapidly become a flushed mob.
Things would probably be different in states where an armed populace live and work.

  15. Robert Says:

By the time you shoot your third shot people are going to be fleeing like cows thrown out of a tornado. Anything would work. And you just are going to shoot those three, scoop up the brass and be gone just like everyone else.
    Colt Police Positive. .38 Special.

  16. Bruce Says:

Well, according to the Brady Bunch, a single .223 round will penetrate any and all persons standing in the trajectory path. I reckon, then, that an AR-15 should be able to take 250-300 hostiles before you need to reload.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
