The AL shooting
By all accounts, an odd tale. This woman had apparently killed her brother and some local politico dropped the issue. She may have been involved in an attempted mail bombing. All around, seems to be a first class crazy.
A couple of other interesting things, she was supposedly a socialist. Not a big deal, really, except I imagine if she’d been right wing and not left wing, we’d be hearing all about right wing extremists in the press now.
Also unusual, she’s a woman. Not saying that women can’t be prone to violence but I don’t recall a mass shooting involving a woman shooter. But, then, quite a few shootings have gone against the stereotypical angry white male gets a case of the crazy.

I’ve noticed there have been two other shootings in Alabama in the last week. You’d think the media would like to capitalize on the gun violence in my state, but I haven’t seen a word about them in the national news. I guess something about them doesn’t fit the agenda…
I wonder if she owned a copy of Rules For Radicals?

I find this one to be a refreshing change from the usual media tactic of finding out that the miscreant was male, then connecting non-existent dots to get to “angry, white, uneducated, redneck, homophobic, etc, etc” male.
Here we have an angry, white, Harvard-educated, male bashing, socialist female, and all the old stereotypes are off.
I love this country. Anyone can grow up to be a whack-job.

Besides what Shootin’ Buddy mentioned, I also remember the Goleta Post Office shooting in CA in 2006, which was done by a woman. But, the only reason I remember is that mass shootings by women are so rare. Let’s see if I can do the link-thing: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jennifer_San_Marco

I haven’t seen many posts about this on the gun blogs either. That’s kind of puzzling since it appears this woman is an educated liberal, and aren’t educated liberals supposed to be the gun grabbers?
I’m hopeful we’ll eventually hear something about her motivation.

As a heartless autistic gun nerd, I wanna know what piece she used, and what ammo. I mean, usually in these kinds of situations, there’s lots of shootin and not as much killin as we had here. The gal does seem to be a better shot than yer average loony, considering the number of dead folks, and all.

The media has swept this under the rug. You can imagine what the response would have been if she had been a tea party person.
New reports are she was obsessed, as in love, with Obama to the point where people were concerned. A far left extremist. Surprising how little has come out about that.

Uh, RosieRac, she did grab a gun. She perfectly displayed the ambitions of the liberal gun grabbers. They wish to grab them from your hand so you can’t shoot back when they grab their own to kill you with.
