I know the meow mix and a Muppet tune were used for sure. not blasting but enough not to ignore it. The worst part comes from the CD on repeat for over an hour. This gem of wisdom people forget. The guards had to listen to it too don’t forget. Does that mean we tortured them too? Playing a CD for hours on repeat sucks but I wouldn’t classify it as torture. If it is I want to charge my sister for making me listen to crap over and over again. What is torture?

Well, according to the last boy scout, you gotta play some rap music.

From my own experience working in a toy store at Christmas, it’s gotta be the Chipmunk Christmas album or the Elvis Christmas collection.

The Horror of 1981! All across this country, on every radio every twenty minutes, from California to Florida and South Dakota in-between, Phil Collins, “could feel it coming in the air tonight, hold on…” AAAGGGGHH! WE WERE THE GUINEA-PIGS!

Are they looking for royalty checks?

What this is probably about is a concept not well understood in the US called “artist’s rights” or “moral rights”. They are called “neighbouring rights” in Europe. It’s kind of like copyright.

Basically, regardless of whoever owns any other intellectual property (such as a copyright) in an artistic work, the artist retains a perpetual “moral right” in the work. The “moral right” cannot be sold, revoked, or forfeited. It can be waived by contract, and that may be the case here. I don’t know.

But for those artists who did not waive their rights, they are probably going to try to force the government to stop using their songs.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
