And Tennessee has more than Georgia

Interesting:

Georgia has more places off limits to bearing arms than California

But in Cali, only the rich and well-connected can go armed. Continuing:

Prior to July of 2008, the members of GeorgiaCarry.Org, Inc. contended that Georgia had more places off limits to the bearing of arms than any state in the nation. Now, in 2009, Georgia still has more places off limits than California. Most people assume California is highly restrictive of the right to bear arms and that Georgia is a “gun friendly state.” Are these twin assumptions justified?

Georgia has those weird ones, like “public gathering” and “sporting event”.

And you can walk on the sidewalk, you just can’t walk BY a bus stop.

When I was in Georgia last to see my mother, I’m pretty sure I committed several dozen felonies. And while Georgia is my home state, that is one of the reasons I shall never move back there.

Yeah,it is a shame too, that a state with 300,000 permit holders can barely go anywhere with it. Rob Allen, that changed with HB89 last year, in fact you can ride one now,and go into a restaurant that serves, just as long as you don’t drink. The biggest issue is the ambiguous “public gathering” clause.Which we are targeting with HB615 this year.

Sometimes I get the idea that certain states are trying to live-down their image. For example, when I travel from Colorado where I can carry openly and there are not _too_ many places off limits to Texas where even printing is a problem and there are those signs forbidding firearms all over the place, I kinda get the idea that some Texans are somewhat embarrassed by their state’s image.

I thought most of those violations in GA were misdemeanors. (Further, in most jurisdictions outside of Atlanta proper, they don’t seem to give much of a damn…)

Tam, I think he was talking about his not wearing any pants.

Georgia’s public gathering law is a misdemeanor but it encompasses so much it is unreal.

We have a list but it is not bound to the list…

“public gathering” shall include, but shall not be limited to, athletic or sporting events, churches or church functions, political rallies or functions, publicly owned or operated buildings, or establishments at which alcoholic beverages are sold for consumption on the premises and which derive less than 50 percent of their total annual gross food and beverage sales from the sale of prepared meals or food. Nothing in this Code section shall otherwise prohibit the carrying of a firearm in any other public place by a person licensed or permitted to carry such firearm by this part.

Caselaw says that kids hanging out in a parking lot is a public gathering.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
