More on Sotomayor

The courts: where policy is made. Odd. I thought we had another branch of government for that.

And: I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life

White and a penis = bad decisions?

White and a penis = bad decisions?

    Where have you been?

  2. SoupOrMan Says:

Well, of course! After all, white men chose to be white men, right? The bad decision-making clearly started in the womb! Genetics and such had nothing to do with it. That’s just chauvinist pro-male propaganda!

Making bad decisions can only be done by an oppressor with a penis. All those women college professors say so. Failure to agree with them will eliminate your chance at getting tenure, too.

Well this person has obviously not seen the donkey show at Tijuana.

  4. Phelps Says:

Bush 41 made a lot of iffy appointments. This is a case in point.

  5. Chris Says:

I truely believe that our Comander in Chief is out to marginalize this country. In his eyes we can no longer be the supior power on the planet and he is out to make us equal to other nations by bringing us down a few notches.
Fom the unprecedented spending that returns litte if anything. (you feel stimulated?) To the world apology tour. To the down play in national security. Now a justice appointment that relies on “La vida loca” empathy. All this with the media working his PR.
I would be worried were it not for the fact that only half of the people are still blinded by his carisma, while the other half can so clearly see.
    The great “Uniter” indeed.

  6. Dad Says:

Sotomayor had had 80% of her cases that have gone to SCOUS overturned.

  7. Tennessee Budd Says:

Funny how racism is okay when they do it, huh?

  8. Robert Says:

She’s never married or had children, so that’s lacking in her rich and varied experience.

  9. Manish Says:

    Dad…read this

  10. Manish Says:

So are these comments to suggest that white males are under-represented on the Supreme Court?

  11. emdfl Says:

No, these comments are to suggest that a lying woman in black robes – one who is the result of AA and believes that she should write legislation from the bench because her latina feminist viewpoint is better then the law – will be a disaster of the proportions that we have only seen so far from the kenyan citizen presently occupying the White House.

  12. Stormy Dragon Says:

Yes, because clearly replacing Souter with a liberal justice would be a radical change the balance of power in the court.

  13. Manish Says:

thanks emdfl..that clears things up. The kenyan citizen part shows where your biases lay. This is just about opposing anything that our President proposes because he’s “not one of us”.

  14. PB Says:

Bush 41 made a lot of iffy appointments. This is a case in point.

  15. Dad Says:

    Manish Said Dad read this.
I did and I see the spin has started. I wonder how many of the cases that are overturned by SCOTUS where judged by liberal Judges trying to push their liberal agenda? If you can find this information that would be interesting.

  16. Tam Says:

Hey, Lynda Carter is a Latina and she kicked major Nazi ass, plus she has an invisible jet. Let’s nominate her instead!

  17. Dad Says:

Was Benjamin Nathan Cardozo not from Latinos descent? He was on the court in the 30’s. Does he not count? Just wondering!!!!

  18. Guav Says:

Well, you know, us white dudes just don’t lead rich lives. Maybe we should sign up for salsa classes.

  19. Scott Says:

interesting how just about everybody seems to be ignoring certain key qualifiers of the quote, such as the “I would hope that…” at the beginning and the “more often than not” in the middle. Hardly the “she said latinas are better than white males!” shreeking by some.

  20. straightarrow Says:

Turn it around Scott and have a white man say it. Would you still be comfortable with it? If so, you are seriously bent.

  21. Billll Says:

Socrates once observed that “Having testicles is like being chained to the village idiot.” so maybe she has a point.

My own observation is that Estrogen makes you crazy, while testosterone makes you stupid. It’s how nature keeps us from becoming extinct.

Sure Sotomayor may be racist, sexist, statist, anti-gun, and elitist, but the president has a right to pick people as much like himself as he wants.

  22. straightarrow Says:

Damn Billl, who knew accuracy could be so cold one could frostbite his eyes reading it?

  23. straightarrow Says:

speaking of white & penis=bad decisions.

In the interest of full disclosure I must admit my penis has caused me to make some very bad decisions, but none of them had a deleterious affect on America. Just me.

  24. drstrangegun Says:

Ok, I’ve got enough info to be past the “objective measurement” stage, and she’s gonna suck. Bad.

And if her past performances on the bench are an indicator, she might be the first sitting Justice to ever interrupt another one during the givings of opinion. Maybe even the first one ejected from the forum for bad behavior 🙂

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
