HA! If their mandate is to interrupt gun-running (north to south, I presume), then:
a) A collosal waste of money.
OR
b) They’re in the wrong location. They should be located down in Central & South America to be effective.
It will be interesting to watch, and see their results. I also wonder if they’re also going to help the Border Patrol against north-bound traffic (illegals & drugs)?

I’d wonder how long it would take for the Obama administration to start looking at how they can use these “Gun Runner Impact Teams (GRITs)” for political advantage against the law-abiding, tax paying, gun owners who are forced to fund these teams, but I’m sure they are already looking at that. That is, if these teams weren’t purposely designed to be used politically to alleviate the political embarrassment of Obama’s stalled anti-gun rights effort.

What violent crime fighting expertise do these guys have? All I hear them doing is setting up people with the “MacGuyver Loophole” in all the gun laws.
