Officer Shooting in Cali
Three Oakland police officers and a suspect are dead, and another officer is in grave condition, after two related shootings on Saturday, the first after a traffic stop and the second after a massive manhunt ended in gunfire, police said.
And:
Police said the suspect, 27-year-old Lovelle Mixon, of Oakland, fired an assault rifle at officers who came into the building to arrest him.
Assault rifles are illegal in Cali. I’m sure, as with the Alabama shooting, the Brady Camp will be along to blame California’s lax gun laws for the shooting. Oh, wait.
Shooter had an extensive criminal history.

It’s sad, but the police nationwide have become such a threat to the lives, property and liberty of those they purport to serve that when I heard the news my first thought was “good for him, but too bad he only got three.”

I assumed that the Beltway Sniper must be some kind of righteous patriot who was being framed as a madman by the media, and was cheering him on right until he started shooting soccer moms in the parking lot of Home Depot. Up until that time, he’d only shot cops, so I assumed his motivations were pure. Too bad he was just another Islamo-lunatic.
Am I the only one who thinks of Bolt-Action .22s whenever they use the term “Assault Rifle”?

Nope … sometimes those assault rifles are CVA muzzleloaders. Be sure to stress the “.50 cal” part when doing the story.

My prayers are with the families and friends of the killed police officers.
That said, this story is obviously a fabrication. It is against the law to have assault weapons in Kalifornistan, and it is against the law for felons to have firearms of any kind, and we all know that criminals always obey the laws!

It’s Oakland we’re talking about. The Police in Oakland are about the only thing standing between that city becoming a combination of 1930’s corrupt Chicago and pre-Surge (2006) Mosul, with a sufficiently large portion of the inhabitants indistinguishable from drugged-up Marxist Al Quaeda members for all practical purposes, having sex with goat-faced non-virgin crack bitchesses.
Talk about a threat to “lives, property and liberty” – but it’s not coming from the cops. In Oakland the gangbangers, crack-sellers, and general thug-culture lifestyle peeps often have totally illegal full-auto AKs with which they play and spray. Everything the homies do already is illegal and one more thing don’t mean a thing to them. Life is cheap, here’s the 2007-’08’-’09 Oakland Murder Map. That’s not even counting the nearby happy-homicide Hooverville of Richmond up the road.
The murderer had a long criminal history and was out on parole, wanted on a no-bail warrent for assault with a deadly weapon stemming from an armed robbery in San Francisco across the bay, which he had ignored and had no intention of complying with.
When stopped for a traffic infraction of his POS car at 1:15 p.m by the two bike-cops he exited the car, ran at them, and before they could dismount and un-holster, he shot them both where they stood. One died right there and the other is hanging by a thread in grave condition.
Then he ran away, down the block and around the corner and up into a small three-story house – about 100-yards away – that was divided into several apartments. He basically did a home invasion on the occupants and barricaded himself inside an upstairs unit. A person in a basement unit called the Cops to alert them.
When the SWAT team geared-up they must have been wearing pistol-caliber vests – not much use against an AK round, and the first two guys in in the stack went into the funnel-of-death. Maybe he didn’t wait and simply shot through the door as he heard them coming down the hall. The rest of the team opened-up and killed him, thankfully. Summary justice which he deserved. Bury him face down so he can see where he’s going – to Hell.

As a Oakland native (now out of CA, thank god) I can honestly say that these officers died doing what police should do – standing between normal people and the scum of the earth.
Oakland cops are hated by the thugs who live in Oakland, and by the yuppie liberals who make up the rest of the population. They go to work every day and put their lives on the line to protect people who are probably toasting their deaths right now.
Even the Oakland police have issues, but these four officers (the fourth passed late saturday/early sunday) lost their lives with honor, and dancing on their graves just gives us all a bad name.

I’d have to read the details, but my guess (educated guess, 25 years of patrol duty under MY gunbelt) is that there was something wrong with their car-stop tactic. I’ll admit that I’ve not done work in motors, but in two separate vehicles, the officers should ALWAYS have the subject in something of a crossfire opportunity.
As to not being able to draw in time, that’s a major training issue, and from yesterday forward, every felon on the street will know that they have a “window” in which to attack a bike cop, so EVERY department that uses motors had better damn well get those officers, ON THEIR BIKES, to the range to practice. On a bike you don’t have the cover a sedan cruiser gives you.
The SWAT team. Sounds like the team did a straight frontal assault on the apartment door, and against an armed felon, that’s absurd. Negotiators are supposed to be available for this purpose. This isn’t the farking Army, and OPD should have realized that. If it WAS the Army, frag grenades would have been used. I didn’t even hear of stun grenades being used in this case.
There will, unfortunately, be plenty to learn from with the fatal mistakes made in Oakland.

Turns out it was his Sister’s apartment, and he was hiding in a closet.
She later said, “He didn’t do nothing, he just came up here to go to the bathroom.”
Amazingly Roberta-X has an Oakland story of beauty and accomplishment in the distant past, a completely different world in which my Dad grew-up.
It has collapsed like into a sink-hole, degenerated into a drug-ridden killing zone with an extremely highly-paid but corruption riddled and totally incompetent school-board, and run by a Marxist mayor.

Well, since “assault” weapons (whatever the Hell that is) are illegal in California the solution is clear — ban them in Florida, Georgia, Texas, etc. If I can’t have an AR in Florida will surely stop lifetime criminals in California from killing cops.

What pisses me off most about this story is that it is bound to be used by government in gun control efforts.
Then there is the black-White aspect of this. From witness interviews the two motorcycle officers were shot in the face, head, and neck. I know this black criminal would not have done that to black officers. This black is going to be a hero in the black community.
Finally, I hate what the police have become in this country. You often hear on TV or in court “routine traffic stop” when someone has been tasered, pepper sprayed, beaten to death, etc. and it turns out the victim was a normal law-abiding person. Cops lie, abuse, and kill people in this country and get away with it. Makes me sick.
