Comical

The Violence Policy Center’s research that is:

“Big Boomers” – Handguns with rifle power capable of penetrating body armor—are growing threat to lives of law enforcement officers, according to new VPC study.

Drug traffickers are already using these “vest-busters” to kill police in Mexico

New rule in gun hysteria: always mention Mexico. Remember, they’re talking about what are typically single shot, break open, pistols. Like Kevin’s.

I think I’ll post a picture of my Remington XP-100 tonight. THAT will scare the HELL out of ’em!

hysteria rule two: make up snappy slang terms that nobody actually uses outside of the newsroom and maybe a Hollywood movie set.

Great so they can build a foundation for bolt action Firearms later.

That they can turn into full stocked bolt action rifles and shotguns. Fudd’s beware. Kiss that Remington 700 or Weatherby goodbye. “For the Mexicans” The new Anti battle cry.

“Big Boomers?” What the hell? When did Jar Jar Binks go to work for the VPC?

  5. Stretch Says:

T/Cs and XPs have been around since, what?, the mid-60s?
Way to keep on top of things VPC.

“Big Boomers?” What the hell? When did Jar Jar Binks go to work for the VPC?

I think Jar Jar is running the VPC.

  7. Chas Says:

“Big Boomers” sounds pretty dumb. As for always mentioning Mexico, that is not something that is going to resonate with Americans. Nice to see the VPC up a creek with only a little toy paddle.
“Big gun go boom! Big gun go boom!” Yeah, sure kid, if you say so.

Like your average gang-banger is stuff a Contender down his pants… pffft!

“Is that a T/C in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?”

  9. Kristopher Says:

Mexicans don’t bother with semi-auto crap. The penalty for owning a full-auto rifle is the same for owning an unlicensed bolt-action rifle.

Spend a holiday evening in a Mexican town … the gun-fire into the air is intense.

And none of those weapons were bought at US gunshows.

Mexico is awash in illegal arms … has been since possession was banned in 1968. The PRI banned everything except .22lrs or shotguns stored at a gun club … and was promptly ignored by gun-owners there.

Some of the most interesting and inovative, as well as best constructed home made SMGs I have ever seen are from Mexico. The stuff that gets produced SOTB rivals the stuff that the Third Reich came up with. A few months ago Small Arms Review had pictures of a captured Mexican .22 LR SMG that was nickel plated, had an elaborately carved and painted wood stock, and appeared to be a totally unique design, not modified parts. The kind of thing I would LOVE to own, if I could.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
