More on the handgun database

Michael Silence told you so. The state Department of Safety is now inviting legislation to make the records private.

Perhaps the Commercial Appeal should change its name to Communist Appeal, since that’s who they’re trying to appeal to.

Since the State requires intrusive personal information to obtain a gun permit, the State should be made responsible to protect that information. Even though publications like the Commercial Appeal and the Tennessean don’t respect the RIGHT to CARRY the means of self-defense, I still respect their First Amendment right to publish information that they acquire. In this case, the onus is on the State and those agents of the State who have access to gun permit info to keep that info confidential in acordance with the 4th Amendment. If this is done, then newspapers could not acquire.

I would think that IF newspaper editors and publishers were required to obtain a permit to exercise their First Amendment right like we are to exercise our 2nd Amendment right, they would prefer their info to be protected as too.

I’ve been keeping up with this forum for some time now, please drop by and comment on an article I posted today, 2/12/09, regarding our right to bear arms and how registration of firearms will lead to confiscation eventually.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
