Not just for drivers anymore.

Considering news reports over the past couple of months, they need to set up a sobriety checkpoint outside the Police motor pool.

I think the many spellings of “gestapo” in the comments are hilarious.

  3. Huck Says:

Look at the bright side. As long as cops are manning “sobriety checkpoints” they’re not kicking in doors and shooting elderly women in their homes.

  4. JJR Says:

“Public Intoxication” laws are supposed to be used against people being OBNOXIOUSLY drunk in public…like urinating on public buildings, or so drunk they can’t stand, or barfing into the gutter, or holding an impromptu karoke contest on the sidewalk…not happening to be over a certain BAC while otherwise minding their own business while doing the right thing and NOT DRIVING HOME INTOXICATED.

  5. CTD Says:

Also, note that only two people were cited for dunk driving.

These oprichniki “checkpoints” are allowed to violate the 4th Amendment because the supposed “scourge” of drunk driving, fueled my MADD’s hysteria. Yet they invariably only catch a couple of actual drivers (who may or may not be drunk), while issuing more tickets than anything else. The results for this one are typical.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
