On a cloudy day
I’ve mentioned our local porn store before and it’s various trouble in dealing with the local yokel good ol’ boy network that thinks you shouldn’t look at dirty movies. And also how it was a landmark everyone ignored. I was heading to a secure and undisclosed location the other day and noticed that there is now a quilt shop where the porn store used to be. I wonder if they moved or eventually got tired of dealing with all the local legal wrangling and closed?

So when you give directions now will it be “the quilt shop” or “the quilt shop where the porn store used to be”?

This is the South, so it will absolutely be the latter. I still get directions from time to time that involve “where so-and-so’s farm used to be,” and that farm hasn’t been there in thirty or more years.

My FIL likes to give directions like, “Turn left at the old oak tree. If you get to the old McKerney barn you done missed it.”
I swear the man can have gone somewhere 1,000s of times and not ever caught a street name.

The original owners (we know them) of that porn store sold it and moved to Nevada. Because they we’re sick and tired of being hassled and the greener grasses (greener sands?) of Sin City were beckoning.
I think people giving them crap were beginning to pick on their kids. Because they’re cowards (people who pick on kids, that is).
Do know squat about the last owners.
