A continuing trend

Gun sales up. Some folks I talk to in the gun biz say this election is driving sales.

  1. Bitter Says:

When we were volunteering at one of the recent gun shows, I talked to a dealer across from us quite a bit during the slow moments and he said he can’t keep any AKs in stock. As soon as he gets them in, if a regular customer hasn’t already claimed it, then it’s sold that week. Handguns, shotguns, and some rifles are average or slightly below average sales, but anything that has a potential to be banned is out the door in a heartbeat.

  2. Paul Says:

I attended a gun show near me, this past weekend. Although I didn’t buy any guns, there was more form-filling activity, and more dealers on the phone, than I’ve ever seen there before.

  3. Lornkanaga Says:

I was at a gun show last weekend and heard the greatest line ever from a guy talking to his small (5-yr-old) son: “That’s a .22, like Mommy has.”

    Priceless.

  4. Dan Says:

yeah, I was thinking of putting some money towards an Ar-15 type rifle that I could hunt deer with. I was leaning towards the 7.62 one, but heard that you cannot have a mag work reliably with more than 10 rounds.

  5. SayUncle Says:

I had a 7.62. Regular magazines where an issue. The MWG 10 rounders worked well. Also, the FrankenMags worked well but were 1) hard to find and 2) cost too damn much.

  6. straightarrow Says:

Get an L1A1 if still available and a 20 round mag, standard. 7.62NATO.

  7. straightarrow Says:

Will reliably handle .308Win. and has a gas adjustment system to safely handle the slightly more powerful .308.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
