Under current DC definitions, each of their police officers carries a “machine gun” openly. Too bad Paul failed to mention this.
funny how there were links all over that podt, but no supporting evidence for his argument the the original bill would allow open carry of rifles.
Awwww look at the sad panda trying to spin this issue like a top.
Funny how he seems to think its totally cool for a city to be in direct violation of US law.
Imagine how much Paul would call to congress if a few states or towns decided to tell the NICS to pound sand….or if a few states agreed that handguns could be freely exchanged between residents.
Nope that would require a call to action!
“Funny how he seems to think its totally cool for a city to be in direct violation of US law.”
Of course he does, because the law being violated involves gun ownership/carry. It’s all right, to Helmke’s way of thinking, to violate the law in that case.
America is coping with the worst financial crisis in a century according to Alan Greenspan, is rebuilding from two destructive hurricanes, and is waging two wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Yet Paul Helmke found nearly an hour of computer time to write about a local gun ordinance.
Regarding Congress having a say in DC affairs: apparently Paul Helmke is completely unfamiliar with the U.S. Constitution. Oh, wait–we already knew that!
