Time Saver

I’d like to thank R. Neal for linking to this PDF creator. This has saved me so much time standing in front of a damn scanner. The only issue I have with it is that it won’t do multiple worksheets in Excel and you have to do each worksheet separately.

most of the PDF-makers i’m familiar with are the “printer driver” type, like PrimoPDF. dunno if R. Neal’s one works that way or not, i hadn’t heard of it before.

if you don’t mind the ginormously-huge download, you could also try OpenOffice.org; it’s meant as a MS Office replacement, but each of its components can also create PDFs natively as just one more feature. over a hundred megabytes to fetch, and fully as complex to learn and get proficient with as MS Office, but it’ll read your Excel spreadsheets and Word documents just fine before outputting PDFs of them for you.

With PDFCreator you can “Combine” multiple sheets. I am not sure if this is what you are looking for. To do so you need to “Print” the first sheet when the PDFCreator dialog comes up hit [Wait-Collect] the document will go into the queue. Once you are done with all the pages go to [Document] then [Combine] your multiple sheets will come out as a single PDF.

    Hope this helps.

Nomen, PDFCreator is another “print” to create PDF programs. As for OpenOffice.org, it’s not always 100% compatible with MS Office documents–sometimes you lose some formatting–but it works damn well most of the time.

I use the free version of CutePDF which is another print as PDF thingys–it does everything I need it to do for creating PDFs.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
