Glad to see police departments going with 45ACP!

My local PD (Wheaton, IL), uses the HK USP in 45 ACP. I was kind of surprised when I first saw it, but their firearms training guy said that after a series of tests, just about everyone on the force liked it, including the people with smaller hands.

Interesting. I’d still personally prefer the extra mag cap available with .40, but the subsonic .45 probably is actually more comfortable to shoot.

Now if only the military would dump the euro-pellet for a REAL caliber, because after all:

What does it matter when they miss anyway?!

The Texas Highway Patrol went with 357 Sigs a while back. No complaints reported so far….

They liked their old revolvers in .357, too.

I own a M&P .45ACP and I love it. It’s not the best for concealed carry, but it is very accurate and I love the trigger. About the only thing I would like for it to have is a grip safety instead of a thumb safety, but with the interchangeable back strap, that might be kinda tricky.

Some very respected trainers are saying great things about the M&P45. Now if the stock price would just go up….

I luv my Springfield XD compact in .45 acp…works fine with a SmartCarry holster.

Yeah, I wish the military would drop the M9 in 9mm too.

The NATO ammo-sharing rationale ended with the fall of the USSR.

Of course, I wish they’d bring back the M-14 in greater numbers, too.
And with some of the stuff I read about the M4, I wonder if bringing back the M-1 carbine (yeah, the WW2 era one) mightn’t be a bad idea for street fighting in Iraq.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
