Mayberry hits the blogs

People wonder why I prefer to remain pseudonymous (even though quite a few folks know who I am), this is one reason:

This is some real Mayberry shit over here, except Goober and Gomer are in charge and Earnest T. Bass is off leash and off his meds.

I’ve been doing this blogging thing for six years and I’ve never seen anything like it. The harassment of me and others at this site, threatening emails, invasion of my privacy, people showing up on my front porch, reporters and others trying to get me to “out” people — it’s a regular three-ring circus and you can’t tell which clowns to trust.

The worst I’ve had to deal with is a geography grad student who likes to use my name when he posts comments here. Oh and ATF. The latter were far more pleasant.

Update: Related thoughts on anonymity and blogging from a blogger who is not anonymous.

I think most readers have figured out who I am by now and those that have tend to understand why I started doing it anonymously. Of course, after a while, it’s just more fun under the name Bitter Bitch. 🙂

Nothing like being stalked by the sensitive liberal elite. They say they want to discuss issues. When you do discuss issues, the liberal elite want to discuss personalities. Meaning who you are and where you work.

To this day, I have no idea who Uncle is. I thought that was the whole idea of this experiment. That we focus on issues. The Publius of the Federalist Papers were right, the issues matter more than the people who discuss the issues.

But what do I know, I am a Number.

Neal goes through these fits every so often. Remember his famous “speech guidelines” for the Rocky Top website, claiming what he’s claiming now about people being mean, etc? And then when he just shut it down suddenly, claiming irritation with all the fuss and bother? This is just another iteration of that. He’ll calm down, shut down KnoxViews for a while, then start something else.

This is the fourth or fifth time the “little fit” has occurred.

Each time it is “yahoo related”. What that means for you folks not familiar with East Tennessee blogging is that “those people”, in other words Conservatives, must yield to the more intelligent progressives, or the lights go out.

So I guess BlountViews now has a no commenting policy. Oh but some yahoo will post on KnoxViews and Boom, out go the lights.

Been there, done that, got the T-shirt.

Damn Conservatives, always messing things up.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
