Civil rights victory in SF

The gun ban is now as dead with no hope of recovery:

The California State Supreme Court has ruled that Proposition H, the draconian gun ban proposed by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors violates California law. This exhausts all possible avenues for appeal by the Board of Supervisors. Proposition H would ban the manufacture, distribution, sale and transfer of firearms and ammunition within San Francisco. The National Rifle Association was the lead organization fighting this ban.

Brady Bunch will soon claim victory.

Preparation H? Gues they found out where they can put that thing!

  2. Tennessee Budd Says:

    Well, it is San Francrisco.

Actually, it’s called Measure H. “Proposition” is the word used for statewide initiatives. I’m pretty sure that the Supremes didn’t actually rule on the issue but rather denied review. They certainly don’t have a published opinion from yesterday on their web site, as they presumably would if they had actually ruled on the merits. Not that it matters anyway, as state appellate court rulings bind the entire state.

“I think Proposition H feels good, on the whole.”

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
