Lou Dobbs on guns
Once again, caught part two of the show. Pretty good bit, I thought. Noted ATF lacks testing standards and that all tests of firearms are not videotaped. They mentioned a bill (HR1791??) that seeks to establish standards and require videotaping of ATF testing. Said that next week, they’d talk to NRA and a couple of Congressmen. Good.

I’m not sure what to make of this. Lou Dobbs really seems to be shoring up his conservative credentials these days.

WOULD I BE WITHIN THE LAW IF I WOULD CARRY A CONCEALED TOY OR FAKE HAND GUN THAT APPEARED TO BE REAL??
IN THE EVENT THAT A CROOK WOULD APPROACH ME JUST SHOWING HIM THAT I HAVE A GUN ,ALTHOUGH IT IS NOT REAL JUST MUGHT CHANGE HIS MIND AND CHASE HIM AWAY .
IF HE TOO HAD A GUN HE PROBABLY HAD PLANNED TO SHOOT ME ANYHOW TO AVOID BEING IDENTIFIED SO I WOULD LOSE NOTHING .

You’d have to check your local laws Ron. Also keep in mind that you can break a possession law by attempting to posses or ‘conspiring’ to posses. And if you do draw it on someone other than a bad guy that would be menacing, and if you commanded them to do anything that could break another law too.
But – better to be tried by 12 than carried by by 6 huh? In other times society wouldn’t permit disarmament by other men.

If I have to show a crook my gun that will be the last thing he ever sees.
Because by then I will have made a judgement that my ( or another’s) life is in mortal peril.
