Handy Tip

Don’t bother upgrading to the latest Firefox. It’s completely screwed and the window sizes are goofy.

    The latest Firefox 2? Or the beta Firefox 3? I’ve had the 2.0.12 release since it came out with no problems neither on Win/XP nor Linux.

    huh? Mine are all fine.
    And by all, I mean a dozen or so PC’s I use throughout the day.

    The x for closing a tab sometimes disappears. and web pages are bigger than the window with no scroll bar.

    I’m using 2.0.0.12 with no problems. It might be an extension problem. Are you using something like Tab Mix Plus? Restart in safe mode and see what happens (“-safe-mode” as an argument on the command line, or the safe mode short cut in your Windows start menu (assuming you’re using Windows)).

    I was wondering about add-ons too. You might consider disabling them all to see if that fixes anything. Then if it does re-introduce them one at a time.
