   One thing that Buckley, Jonah Goldberg and the rest of the NRO staff have NEVER grasped in the slightest…..is the Second Amendment. They just don’t get it.

   Giuliani has better legs than Hillary… But Romny is a gun-grabber and Fred’s a lot more conservative than Mitt.

   Guiliani would be a more effective gun-grabber than Hillary because, like with GWB, some Republicans would capitulate if he was doin’ it, but offer resistance against Hillary.

   I will NOT “waste my vote” on any gun-grabber!!! It’s evil to vote for either of “the lesser of two evils”!!

    Fred Thompson is as conservative as Romney

    Technical foul. Thompson is a lot more conservative than Romney, but fixing that minor error would have scarcely affected their point. Make a few minor fixes, and their greater point stands:

    Fred Thompson is as conservative as Romney claims to be this week, and was a hell of a lot more conservative than Romney was a few short years ago. Further, Thompson, and has distinguished himself with serious proposals on Social Security, immigration, and defense. But Thompson has never run any large enterprise — and he has not run his campaign well, either. Conservatives were excited this spring to hear that he might enter the race, but have been disappointed by the reality. He has been fading in crucial early states. He has not yet passed the threshold test of establishing for voters that he truly wants to be president.
