Gun Buyback

Love the headline: AMNESTY GUN BUY-BACK REMOVES 106 GUNS FROM SAN FRANCISCO STREETS.

Actually, a more accurate headline would probably be AMNESTY GUN BUY-BACK REMOVES 106 GUNS FROM LAW-ABIDING PEOPLE. CRIMINALS KEPT THEIRS. THEY’RE NOT STUPID, YA KNOW.

After the match a friend from my club went up there (SF) and got as few hundred dollars for rusted-up crap and junkerguns that he now will buy pretty guns with… Thanks for the free money SF ‘tards!

The pretty picture of an evil gun shows a brass-framed Italian replica black powder revolver. The article states as well as an (eeeevil!) AK-47, “4 assault rifles and 2 sawed off shotguns were turned in”. I guess they weren’t as photogenic. I’d have preferred to see what they were, rather than a junky, out of time cap and ball revolver.

Of course, in my opinion, $150 for that revolver was charity.

    Regards,
    Rabbit.

Coming from a San Fagcisco newsrag I’d bet that the “4 assault rifles” were semi auto .22s.

Anyway, I’m gonna stock up on dirt cheap junk guns and go to the Gay Bay next time they have one of these. Maybe I’ll get enough to buy a Ruger Alaskan.

I’m sure some criminals turned their guns in, too. Criminals routinely discard their guns after using them in crimes. What better way to accomplish that than to hand them over to the suckers who pay $$ with “no questions asked?”

I do take issue with the phrase “buyback,” however. What the hell is so “back” about the government buying weapons it never owned in the first place?

Wish there was one near here paying $100 for rifles. I have a $95 Mossberg Plinkster .22 that I could do with recycling into a newer, and better, rifle.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
