Wrong on every level, but still funny

You have to love the marketing people at McDonald’s. They have no pride or remorse and they are quite brilliant.

Take their latest ploy. Many people want to save the Earth from Global Warming. So how can a company that sells hamburgers capitalize on this trend? Remember, their product is hamburgers. Perhaps the most dangerous product on Earth as far as Global Warming is concerned.

In Japan you can buy a Big Mac for half price if you download a form that shows how to reduce Global Warming. Do you think there is anything on that form that suggests eating fewer Big Mac’s will prevent Global Warming?

Genius. Give them an A, for audacity.

What happens if you print the form, helping to kill precious trees in the process? Do they assess a carbon surcharge on that Big Mac purchase?

Wiping water off the bottom of a kettle before you heat it? Forgive me for being stupid, but huh? Just how many watts of energy are actually lost to vaporizing those few little droplets of water stuck there?

As you say, McDonalds did a damned good job of capitalizing on the situation, though. Why people buy into it, however, is another matter entirely…

If McDonald’s really gave a damn they would help poor Leo.

I hesitated to say before “11th Hour” actually opened how mind-numbingly dull it was for fear that I would ruin it for those interested in the subject of global warming. But at Cannes, when the film by Nadia Conners and Leila Conners Petersen was shown to journalists, nearly the entire room fell asleep.

    Making documentaries is hard work.

I love the Big Mac. Do not bad mouth the Big Mac nor the glorious Golden Arches from which the Big Mac is born.

    But you don’t understand.

McDonald’s is helping the earth by killing all those nasty greenhouse gas emitting cows! I may have to stop on my way home to make sure at least one more cow is killed – it’s for the planet.

I cannot believe how blind I have been. McDonald’s is saving the Planet.

I will do my part. Steak for dinner tonight.

Do lobsters harm the Planet? Our local County Mayor and his staff seem to be trying to eat every lobster in Knox County. He cares. I should have known.

McDonald’s (and several others) should also be penalized for their predatory (pedophiliic) advertizing practices aimed directly at children. This is illegal in most countries…

Audacity? More like Amazing corporate strategy! I’ve been trying to think of ways to take advantage of all this global warming bullshit in my portfolio for some time – I need to start thinking like micky d’s!

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
