Gavin Newsom Targeting Gun Shows

San Francisco is often touted as a tolerant city.   It’s tolerant alright, as long as you’re only engaging in activities the leftist elite that run the city approve of.  Naked bike ride day?   Just fine.  Have a gun show?  Oh no!  Not that!

“It needs to be shut down, and we’re going to do our best to do that,” Newsom said.

I’m also amused that this article provides me with this quote:

Newsom signed gun-control legislation in an effort to reduce illegal gun activity.

So we’re passing more legislation to combat “illegal gun activity”.  Umm…. maybe I’m dense here, but if the activity is already illegal, and people are doing it anyway, isn’t passing more laws kind of, well, useless?   Wouldn’t it make more sense to lock up the criminals committing the illegal act?

Well, in Mayor Newsom’s defense, locking up criminals is hard.  Passing more gun control is easy.  Gun control: it’s what you do instead of something.

Wow – I love the reaction of gun owners who never think guns will be outlawed and that the NRA is standing up for the 2nd Amendment. What a crock. I can’t wait for the midnight no-knock raids at the home of every californian who has ever has their name on a government 4473 or registration list. Serves you right if you comply with 1) laws that violate our God given natural rights, and 2) laws which violate the constitution.

    Wake the fuck up gents.

Maybe someone with a lot more smarts than I do or someone who has better resources available can do a search or maybe some gun rights organization can do a study on—What percentage of CCW people commit and are convicted of crimes in this country? I’m sure that the numbers would not be surprising to the gun community. Without the benefit of any study I would hazzard a guess that it would be less than 2%

“Newsom signed gun-control legislation in an effort to reduce illegal gun activity.”

Um… If the “illegal gun activity” is already illegal then why is more legislation needed?

Uh, ain’t the big gun show in question the city limits of SFO in Daly City?

Kinda gives new meaning to “extra-territorial jusisdiction”, huh? Sorta like France telling Germany ‘no more Oktoberfest’.

    Regards,
    Rabbit.

    Check this out Rabbit

“Past undercover operations in the Cow Palace’s parking lot during the gun shows, conducted by the San Francisco Police Department, prove that such illegal transfers do happen, said Newsom, who hesitated when asked if such a sting operation was planned for this weekend”

The Cow Palace is in Daly City NOT San Francisco so why is SFPD conducting undercover ops outside their jusrisdiction? I wonder if the mayor of Daly City is aware of this?

    Arrrrgh.

Syntax error. Cow Palace is in Daly. Knew that, but couldn’t get the neural impulses to my fingers, and I was so wound up over Bloomberg-type stings it short circuited the pathways.

    Regards,
    Rabbit.

Me too Rabbit. Me too. Bad enough these Bay-Aryan mayorial types are screwing up their towns, they can’t resist trying to export their world view.
