NFA Tax process – update

Or, rather, not so much. In an update to turning El Nino into a short barreled rifle, I’ve made no progress on getting fingerprinted. Seems that Knox County only does fingerprinting at inconvenient times and at an inconvenient location. I haven’t made it there yet. It’s like they make it hard to buy guns or something.

Dude, go the trust route. Fingerprinting is an unnecessary hassle. Trust is easy and fast.

Go to Oak Ridge. Call ahead for an appointment; they do it Tues & Thurs, I think. In & out at the OR cop shop in ten minutes.

Also, rumor has it that the ATF is starting to scrutinize the trust loophole.

Trust or LLC is the way to go. Depends if your state charges a yearly fee for LLCs or just a one time fee.

  4. Bitstream Says:

The trust route is NOT a loophole. From the instructions on a Form 4:

    d. Person. The term “person” means a partnership, company, association,
trust, estate, or corporation, as well as a natural person.

I’ll bet all those felons will be glad to hear if they are caught at an “inconvenient” time, that they won’t be fingerprinted.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
