The conservative blogs should be entertaining for the next two years

Election smart assery.

The good news is that lots of people owe me beer. I bet Corker would win and was right. So far, I retain my 100% accuracy on political beer betting.

Tennesseans, by an overwhelming margin, are afraid of gay cooties.

Braisted on Ford:

As I’m watching MSNBC, they are already saying that Ford lost because of the “racist” Bimbo ad.

No…He…Didn’t

He lost because of his father and brother.
He lost because of things like “Democrats love the lord”
He lost because of ads which lied about his record.

A chart of votes by race.

The Campfield race wasn’t close.

Democrats get the House. And might get the Senate.

It took people 6 years to get as fed up with the Republicans as I was after four. Note to Republicans: You can reclaim some of the house seats some day by running on the principles you ran on in the 1990s. Only this time, you should mean it.

I predict Bush will now veto at least two bills.

The Democrats won largely by running (to use the media term) more conservative Democrats. The Uncle term is they ran the non-crazy ones.

Two frightening words: Speaker Pelosi. But I concur with Tam’s prediction of an uptick in gun sales.

So, now what?

From what people tell me in West Tennessee, Ford DID have their vote till he crashed Corker’s press conference and looked like an azz while Corker came off polished, professional, and in control. Many felt that Corker was pretty weak and spineless, but Ford was nice enough to prove them wrong. Dumb move.

However, one Ford DID win, didn’t she . . . *sigh*. Amazing.

  2. Rustmeister Says:

Ford lost my vote because of the other very liberal Democratic members of the Senate, his voting record prior to 2003, and his dad, uncle, aunt, etc.

There’s a silver lining for Bush according to http://www.numbersusa.com. Now the leadership of the House and probably the Seante will support his agenda of open borders, amnesty for illegals and forcing us to appease accommodate and pay for illegal aliens.

I had a bad premonition Monday night and sent off an order for more hi-cap mags. Looks like I guessed right.

Harold Ford lost because so many people in this state believe everything they see on tv and spend very little time reading and finding out the truth. (Consider the illteracy for this state.) Tn again has managed to look like uneducated hillbillies to not only the rest of the United States but to people in other countries.

  6. SayUncle Says:

I think he lost because of supporters like Monique.

I’m not so sure. If he had lost for those reasons, he would have lost by a much wider margin, at least in Tennessee. Of course, it didn’t help him with his base that he didn’t endorse the Democratic candidate for his vacant House seat. (Said Democrat won handily anyway.)

On come on Say Uncle Tn was the only state that elected Republican Senator. I have a hard time understanding how people actually elected someone who pretty much said he is no very articulate considering he will be speaking on behalf of the people of Tn. check out Corker being interviewed on CBN (uh uh). Even Montana the state where Bush has 57% approval rating went Democrat. My friends from all over the country to ask what the heck were Tennessean’s thinking elect Corker.

  10. SayUncle Says:

I never said corker was stellar (i didn’t vote for him). But Ford was running completely opposite his record; his little tantrum in the parking lot cost him; and his criminal family didn’t help.

  11. monique Says:

SayUncle I can agree with you on that. The really bad part is it seems like Corker is not going be very well respected in Senate which is real bad for Tn. Did you check out the article in The Tennessean yesterday about Tn not getting as much funding due to the change in power ? I do not think Corker is a bad guy but he does not have the personality to get people to listen to him and Lamar Alexander has been overshadowed by Frist and now he has Corker who is coming into this office with scandal the next two years do not look for TN.

I concur. He’s too mousy and not very senatorial. And I’ve already said some unlfattering and, err, not nice things about him.

Good. States should be self sufficient.

  13. Monique Says:

I like you Say Uncle. I agree all states self-sufficent.

  14. SayUncle Says:

    heh. thanks.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
