Bad news

Just got bad news from the vet. Looks like Politically Correct Dog has a tumor by his spleen. 75% chance it’s cancerous and, if it is, he only has 3-6 months. Removal will be attempted but it’s not guaranteed. So, if you’re the praying sort (and the praying sort who prays for dogs), we’d appreciate it.

pcd & baby

Good luck, buddy.

We’ll say a puppy prayer for him tonight.

    Sure is a cutie.

Bad news indeed. I’m not the praying sort, but I hope he beats the odds.

I’m so sorry to hear this 🙁 Loosing a pet realy is like loosing a family member. Before moving back to TN, we lost Mrs. Naki, a fat cat. It took us days to recover… more time than you’d be let off from work for a relative.

What a great dog. Look at those eyes.

I’m just barely a month out of losing our dear little dog. I feel for you. I sure will pray for your pal.

  6. Kathy T. Says:

Sorry to hear about the tumor. Focus on the 25% chance that it’s benign. And best wishes for a happy outcome.

  7. Rustmeister Says:

Good luck to PCD, hope he’s around for years to come.

  8. Les Jones Says:

That is sad news. Best wishes to PCD on beating the odds.

That’s a good dog. Your kid is going to like that photo a lot when he’s grown.

    Sorry to wishes.

That’s an awful big tumor. Kinda looks like a baby too.

Sorry to hear the news. Loss of one of our little ones is always hard. As I said in another, sadly similar thread, they may leave our hands but they never leave our hearts.

  14. Erik Says:

    Fingers crossed over here.

  15. M. Neal Says:

Best wishes to PCD and your family. The pup looks adorable and I hope he beats the odds.

Our 14 year old golden retreiver had a fist sized tumor removed a year ago. At the same time an inoperable lung tumor was found. Last january she nearly succumbed to a bad urinary tract infection. She didn’t eat for 12 days.

She’s sitting by me now getting a good scratch. In no apparant discomfort, eating 2 good meals a day.

So it’s not over till it’s over, and even a few months more is a long time in dog time.

    Good luck, prayers sent!

Been there, done that and it sucks. Had to put my lab down this year at the ripe old age of 7 thanks to bone cancer.

Prayers out to you and your pup.

[…] In an update to Politically Correct Dog’s tumor, he went to the emergency vet last night after throwing up several times. That was bad. But the good news is that the ER vet basically said he’d seen this before and the sickness was usually indicative of a benign tumor. He also took additional X-rays and noted that no cancer seemed to have metastasized throughout his chest, which again may be indicative that his tumor is benign. He gave Politically Correct Dog much better odds than the original 25% and that’s a good thing. He has surgery today for removal. […]

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
