That’s a crime?
It’s a horrific incident but I had no idea this was a crime:
McElderry is charged with four counts each of statutory rape and criminal exposure to HIV..
You’d think rape would be enough.

I’m sure it varies by state, but for the most part you can be charged for a crime for willingly and knowingly exposing someone to HIV or AIDS.

Oh, yeah. Most states make exposure to HIV a felony.

IIRC, in some states knowingly exposing someone to HIV is considered attempted murder.
