San Fran Ban

In an otherwise decent piece on the San Fran gun ban, Stephen Chapman writes:

It’s not easy to do, but gun control advocates in San Francisco have come up with an anti-firearms measure that embarrasses even some gun control advocates.

Really? Like who? The Brady Campaign is for it. The Violence Policy Center is for it. The Million Mom March campaigned for it.

Did I leave anyone out?

Update: Mr. Chapman informs me he was referring to Zimring, Feinstein and Newsom, who were referenced later in the piece. I take him at his word. However, when I think of anti-gun advocates, I tend to think of their lobby and not the politicians.

Even the anti-gun politicians were for it before they were against it. I seriously doubt Mrs. Dianne “Mr. and Mrs. America turn them all in” Feinstein is broken up over the ban. If she claims to be its because she saw the latest poll numbers.

My creds: Born in Frisco (nanner nanner), lived in the Bay Area mostly since, I’ve been against and fighting these types of people since about ’67. Mayor (ptttuy) Newsom was quoted in the local Chronicle or Examiner as supporting it and lammenting it will never stand.

Example of SF think from a gun ban supporter:
I said “So it’s OK for people to just up and decide to confiscate my legally aquired private property, without compensating me and now I have to give up my whole sidearm collection?”

GFW – “You have a collection????”

I replied “Eleven handguns, including a set of 1780’s flintlock pocket pistols. That is part of what you are voting to steal from me.”

GFW – “I, I, I never thought of that. People collect handguns. Hmm.”

Its not just that they are clueless on many levels. They aren’t (can’t?) thinking.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
