$2.4 Trillion
That’s the total cost of an election year budget. Also, expected is a $1.35T shortfall and the debt is projected to rise from $8.1T to $10.5T. Party of fiscal responsibility, my ass.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.

As you’re aware, I’ve been complaining about this for a Very Long Time.

Your statements also support my assertion that today’s liberals sound more and more like yesterday’s conservatives.
This, imo, denotes blatant partisanship.

You might be screwing up cause and effect. In 1996, I voted almost a straight Republican ticket, primarily because I found the fiscal responsiblity aspect of their platform appealing. If only I had known how big that lie was…
For the record, in 2000 I voted Democratic primarily because by then it had become clear to me just how far Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell and their ilk had their hands up the collective ass of the GOP. Believe me, it wasn’t for love of Al Gore. The other thing that factored in is that the economy was still doing pretty well, and in a good economy I used to vote the status quo. Although now, based on Bush’s repeated defecation on the Bill of Rights (yes, 2nd Amendment included), I find it impossible to vote for him no matter how good the economy is doing this November.
