Feeding the Panic

So the White House was evacuated due to an emergency situation:

A plane flew within five miles of restricted airspace around the complex, the Secret Service said.

Let me make sure I understand, the plane was not actually in restricted airspace but was close to restricted airspace. Dumb.

One Response to “Feeding the Panic”

  1. Guy Montag Says:

I think that was just bad wording by FOX, but you never know. The news here had the plane violating the restricted area and I *think* that is a five mile ring (not sure if it is statute or nautical).

On another note, gaffs I heard Britt Hume and a reporter make in Iraq the other night sounded very “not FOX”.

Hume: The US Army 4th Infantry Division is dropping 500 Lb. bombs on . . .

Umm, sorry Britt, the 4th ID has no assets to drop 500 Lb. bombs and the Key West Agreement prevents the whole of the US Army from having anything that can do that either. The field reporter later mentions that it was F-15s (or some other Airforce asset).

Reporter in Iraq: We are in a Paladin tank

Sorry doode, Paladin (M109) is a self-propelled artillery piece, indirect fire (primarily) weapon. Tanks are direct fire (primarily).

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
