Seattle mayor moves ahead on gun ban

Despite the state AG saying it was illegal, mayor opts to try it anyway. Seems like a losing legal strategy.

Good luck with that. Our state has full preemption and I for one will simply ignore the Mayor’s rules.

Seems like Nickels is pulling a Gavin Newsom. He knows full well that the ban will be struck down by the state, but he’ll get a lot of support from the ninnies who populate Seattle by appearing to “do something” about the “problem”. This costs Nickels absolutely nothing, either financially or politically. The citizens of Seattle will end up paying the legal fees for this stunt, but it won’t piss them off in the least (most of them anyway). I imagine this little stunt is being tried to shore up his chances at another term…

Gestures are everything for the ninnies. Doesn’t matter that the ban doesn’t have a hope in hell of staying on the books, the fact that Nickels tried to “do something” will make the ninnies happy.

They can’t win until activist Court Judges decide in their favor, then like SF’s Newsom they can’t lose and “it’s gonna happen, whether you like it or not.” They win by always being a constant nuisance and never letting up. They’re like Zombies.

If Obama institutes a Federal Assault Weapon Ban as has been indicated, not through votes in Congress or the Senate but by “Executive Order,” Seattle will be encouraged to apply for Federal funds for their ban enforcement. And if those funds materialize in the form of a Civilian Security Force – things would get very *interesting* indeed…

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
