Worse: Press sitting on that bit of info.
Ironic: When looking at someone’s degree of knowledgeability, not realizing that knowledgeability is not a word (at least per dictionary.com and my various spell checkers).
Ya know, I dig Palin but, man, she’s pulled a few boners.
Update: and get your mind out of the gutter.
Update 2: Apparently, there’s quite a bit of question as to the authenticity of the claims.

There is some evidence that this claim is completely made up by staffers who HATE Palin, and are trying to 1) blame her for McCain’s failings and 2) sabotage a 2012 run because they know they won’t be invited to the party.

The most petty staff wants it to look like it wasn’t their fault. However, considering that Palin actually had the most press availability in the last few weeks, and we know how much they hated her, it’s hard to imagine that the press was somehow in the tank for her and hiding all these supposed missteps all the time while actually covering some of Joe Biden’s.
In other words, Rustmeister is right, this doesn’t pass the smell test. Given what I’m seeing, it’s angry staffers who somehow think that this will get them a job in the future instead of realizing that no one will ever trust them if this is how they act out.

As someone else said considering that BOTH her parents were school teachers, this really doesn’t pass the smell test.
That bunch of losers couldn’t plan a campaign to get an un-opposed dog-catcher elected in a kennel.

I’m not sure if there is “evidence” that the claim is made up, but obviously one should consider the motivations of a leaker.
Having said that, I don’t know if Palin didn’t know if Africa was a country..I do know that she couldn’t name a single SCOTUS case other than Roe v. Wade, she gave some hugely gibberish answer in response to a question about the bailout. I also know that in order to get to that level of coherence, they sequestered her from the media for weeks after she was announced as VP.

Could it just be the folks who advised McCain to the worst campaign ever witnessed in this country weren’t just incompetent? Could it be, that they are laying the groundwork for another McCain Lame Campaign style campaign and they want to make damn sure they don’t have a candidate who attracts the attention and goes off the reservation like Palin does.
After all, if you can’t control your candidate, you can’t ensure his defeat.
Just a thought.

I am pretty sure knowledgeability is a word in use—I found it in several online dictionaries.
As far as the press sitting on it, there’s a good reason for it:
From what I understand, the “embedded” reporters are also kind of kept in quarantine and don’t know a whole lot about what’s going on outside of the campaigns themselves.

Sarah Palin was an honor student in her high school. Her parents insisted on good grades and her father was a high school science teacher. I doubt very much that someone with this background is misinformed that Africa is a country. It simply doesn’t compute, sorry. This one should be filed along with her fake high school transcripts. It’s also interesting that the accusers are kept anonymous – they are just “sources” who won’t come forward and make their incredible accusations in the light of day.
The amount of slander that has been dumped upon this woman is sickening, and frankly, reveals the true tolerance and inclusiveness of the slanderers.

That is generally how leaks work. It doesn’t make them false (although it’s always possible).
