The original article is from the Kitsap Sun, and is about Kitsap County. They interviewed a bunch of my fellow KRRC (Kitsap Rifle and Revolver Club) members. A pretty fair article.

Wow, no wonder the article was so fair. I was surprised that the liberal PI was capable of printing such an article. Way to go, PI.

The only thing I question in that article is this bit:

“Federal buildings, courthouses, military installations, bars, schools and airports are off limits to concealed weapons…”

Bars are only off limits if they don’t serve food as well. Airports, IIRC, are not off limits… well, at least the non-secure part. School grounds are off limits (i.e. elementary and high-schools) unless you are a permit holder who is picking up or dropping off. And then you can only carry on “school grounds,” not in the actual building.

…And there’s the thing about “Federal Buildings.” There’s an ongoing debate about the post office. I carry there, and the laws about carrying in the PO are ambiguous at best… seemingly competing statutes.

And one other thing: the article says the 43% increase was between 2003 and 2007. That’s me! Got my CPL in early 2004 after moving here in mid 2002.

Hey Mr. CPA with all the fancy math skills – may want to inform readers of the time period of this percentage change. Most people interpret it over 1 year, not 4. So it comes out to be about 10% average growth a year. Let’s keep that up and in 7 years there will be 500,000!

  5. Mike Says:

According to the Handgun Permit Office in Nashville, applications are up about 500% this year so far.

hardcorps, it’s a quote from the article. good catch, though.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
