Foil Hat Instructions: Two layers, shiny side out

Remember, it’s gun nuts who are paranoid.

ETA: How are you going to be able to afford that expensive sweep of your office since you keep going on about how broke you are in those emails I get?

How many times do I have to repeat this; Aluminum foil will block the electric field component of EM waves, but NOT the magnetic component. To successfully block all the signals the NRA and Carl Rove are beaming into your brain from our oil company spy sattelites, you need a ferrous material, and for best protection at all times it should be earth-grounded. (I can say this freely, because the people we’re controlling from the NRA/Carl Rove/oil company sattelites will not be allowed to comprehend this statement)

Nothing to see here. Watch TV for further coded instructions.

    Wait…

If you get fundraising emails from the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Ownership, then you must be a member. (That is how they count their “membership,” right?) And, since you’re a gunblogger, you must be a mole. And, since you’re a mole in the Brady Campaign you must be getting paid by TEH NRA!

You ARE getting wheelbarrows full of cash from Wayne LaPierre!

Aluminum is OK for grounding purposes (don’t forget to use an alligator clip to connect the speaker wire leading from the coper plumbing pipes to your hat); and ferrous material will mitigate magnetic fields (especially with grounding). However, to get the best effect you want mu-metal (think of Magneto’s helmet in X-Men).

The last time I saw anyone actually wearing an aluminum foil hat was at Georgia Tech, in 1989. Don’t ask. GaTech was and is an interesting place.

    From the website: http://www.mushield.com/material-specs.shtml
MuShield high permeability magnetic shielding material is a non-oriented 80% nickel-iron-molybdenum alloy which offers extremely high initial permeability and maximum permeability with minimum hysteresis loss.

So that should help with that hat problem.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
