poking the SNBIs

Speaking of deflecting from the content of the letter, Kevin has his latest post. It’s a long one so grab a sandwich.

And if you have dessert with your sandwich, when you’re done you can read Robb’s response.

    SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED!

Didn’t you get the memo? Or did I make up a word and not tell anybody, again?

  3. Kevin Baker Says:

    No, must’ve missed that one.

I remember when it was created because I laughed out loud. 🙂

But uncle. It DOES say so right there in black and…er parchment. We bend over backwards to defend the 1st. and the 5th. Why not the 2nd?

    ATLien,

Telegram received by Eisenhower on 6/7/44:

What do you mean you’re not in Berlin yet? Are you against Hitler, or what?

Great posts. If’s a rare thing– having read them once, I can’t think of anything with which I disagree or take issue. That’s a “wow” but I can elaborate on a few points:

As for people pitching in and helping their neighbors. It’s important to keep in mind that once you’ve learned about something like the gun grabs post Katrina, it’s already over. We were seeing it on TV, while those in the neighborhood were mostly in the dark. Real-time information and coordination were non-existent and nearly impossible.

Neither came right out and said it, but in opposing “gun control” what we’re opposing is socialism, or the philosophy behind it. I know there are plenty of “liberals” out there who favor gun rights, but they have an identity crisis– we should have the right to bear arms, but not the right to set our own thermostats, decide where our money is spent, or have freedom of association.

Both posts indicate a philosophy vacuum as the problem. I agree completely. They also point to the fact that, for lack of a better term, our “American Founding Principles” are not generally known and are not being taught. True.

Therefore I say again– public education public education public education. In supporting gun rights, or the other rights, we’re fighting the philosophical vacuum that is public education whether we know it or not. The principles, or philosophy, of liberty are in direct contradiction to the very notion of public education. To put it another way, it would be committing institutional suicide for public schools generally to espouse the philosophy of individualism and liberty.

Public ed is the linchpin of the leftist expansionist movement. As long as they have that, we’re fighting a very steep, uphill battle.

And the purpose of public ed is to manufacture good compliant little followers.

  9. Kevin Baker Says:

ABSOLUTELY. See The George Orwell Daycare Center.

It’s all about which philosophy our children are being taught.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
