On video. Like Bill Frist diagnosing via video, I like to gunsmith via video. My initial reaction was that pressure popped a loosely placed receiver cover off. Having watched it more, it looks like a case rupture. Ouch.

I concur with case rupture. I have seen this happen before with an sks shooting cheaper steel cased chinese ammo.

And in both instances (notice how I didn’t say “cases”) I say the gun fired at least slightly out of battery due to poor assembly of, or tampering with, the firing machanism.
Both rifles have features designed to prevent firing out of battery, but they also have to be “timed” properly for each individual rifle.
But then there are people who swear blind that everything can be honky dorey and a case rupture can still occur in factory ammo.
