Watch your 6

You know, I tend not to place a whole lot of faith when experts say a terror attack is imminent. I mean, they’ve said it for the last six years. Still, I think it’s worth passing along that terrorism expert Juval Aviv says:

I predict, based primarily on information that is floating in Europe and the Middle East, that an event is imminent and around the corner here in the United States. It could happen as soon as tomorrow, or it could happen in the next few months. Ninety days at the most.

Notably different this time (and something I’ve touched on before) is this:

What they’re going to do is hit six, seven or eight cities simultaneously to show sophistication and really hit the public. This time, which is the message of the day, it will not only be big cities. They’re going to try to hit rural America. They want to send a message to rural America: “You’re not protected. If you figured out that if you just move out of New York and move to Montana or to Pittsburgh, you’re not immune. We’re going [to] get you wherever we can and it’s easier there than in New York.”

A few weeks ago I wrote about watching your 6.

    Situational awareness is not paranoia.

But you always have someone like metulj who says, “Talk about pantshitting.” I still watch days with dates that fit the Al-Qaeda pattern.

It makes sense it will be a rural attack. Bridges, water supplies, train trestles. It takes more than cops to secure the country. An alert populace with cell phones could make all the difference. So when you hear kooks make fun of you for their “perceived” paranoia consider the source.

Watch your 6, and your neighbors too.

Pittsburgh is rural? News to me, looks like a largish metropolis to me… not a cow in sight… well, unless you count the twit on the corner… then one in sight.

  3. RedneckRepairs Says:

Rural America huh ? It may happen , but when they hit ” flyover ” country they had best have a plan to deal with a pissed off armed populace . IMHO the ending will be vastly different including an express elevator down to allah .

  4. Drake Says:

I’ve often thought the worst possible tactic for the terrorist shits would be to hit rural America. Hit a mall, or a school or hospital and you’ll piss off the soccer moms. Get those emotional wrecks on your case and its all over.

  5. _Jon Says:

Yeah, you start blowing up churches and people will start marching on City Hall and DC demanding glowing sand craters.

For as clever as these fascists are, they don’t seem to be very smart.

  6. Gringo_Malo Says:

Okay, we’ve got an Israeli “terrorism expert” telling necon Fox News that a terrorist attack is imminent. I find myself wondering what their motives are rather than quaking in fear. I’m at a loss to explain why there have been no attacks since 9/11/01, unless one credits those who claim that 9/11 was a false flag operation. If the government were serious about combatting domestic terrorism, it would expel all of the Muslims in the United States. Instead, it confiscates toothpaste and bottles of liquid from white Americans boarding airplanes.

  7. Metulj Says:

Hey, #9. Muslims use a different calendar, but you’ve already have been told that and ignored it.

BTW, Aviv has been completely discredited. He is “former” Mossad who famously participated in the assassinations after the 72 Olympics. He got sent down to the farm leagues for being the button man on hits that included totally innocent people. Please.

  8. #9 Says:

Hey, #9. Muslims use a different calendar, but you’ve already have been told that and ignored it.

Is the number 911 a prime number metulj? Just like you claim Aviv isn’t relevant you claimed 9 was not a prime number. But 911 is. Whose calendar do you think terrorist use to terrorise? They want America to be afraid when certain dates come around. Fear is not the answer. Preparation and determination is the answer.

You can live is your disutopia. None of us care. You think this is our fault. Fortunately that is a minority view.

There have been terror attacks in America since 911, just not successful ones, yet.

No one is asking you to be situationally aware metulj. Go your own way. do your own thing.

You probably agree with Barry Obama when he says, “I think it would be a profound mistake for us to use nuclear weapons in any circumstance.”

Just great. Is that tactical thinking to you? Anyone that says that should not be President.

  9. Drake Says:

Christ, did he really say that? Truman where are you when we need you?

  10. straightarrow Says:

Being the button man for retribution for the Munich Olympics slaughter is an honor, and a testament to good character. He just didn’t kill enough of them.

One innocent was killed due to mistaken identity, not the plural you intimate. That was and is wrong, but in war there is collateral damage. Blame the sons of pigs who started this shit.

If they do strike the heartland they better be gone when it goes down. We don’t have imams telling us we must accept it. At least none to whom we listen.

Also that will stiffen the backbones of our own surrender monkeys in Congress. As much as I hate to admit it, mobilization of the electorate will be complete if such attacks happen. Not the half-hearted short term high dudgeon we exhibited after 9/11. Sadly, we are no longer all Americans if supporting each other becomes inconvenient. Some of us are pragmatists. Too bad that. I believe the best thing the muslim terrorists can do for America and the worst thing they can do for Islamiya is to make those expected simultaneous “sophisticated” attack.

  11. ishida Says:

Someone said “and an express elevator down to Allah”, their hell is ruled by Iblis, their Satan. I learned that from reading Tom Clancy’s “Teeth of the Tiger”.

I do agree that it’s the worst thing they can do to hit rural America. More people are armed in rural America, not ot mention the whole “impact factor” of the amount of deaths will be much much lower than if they blew up Central Square in NYC.

  12. rich Says:

First, by definition suicide attackers don’t care much about surviving the attack, so your hypothetical hordes of pissed off and heavily armed salt of the earth types aren’t much of a deterrent to a fanatical attacker.

Second, it’s not about stiffening spines in Washington. Dems have decided that winning the Presidency is more important than protecting the country. If you think Harry Reid is going to leap to the defense of the flyover people, you haven’t been paying attention. As Michael Moore said about small business people in small towns, “Fuck ’em. They vote Republican anyway.” And who was it that joked after the 911 attacks that the terrorists shouldn’t have hit NYC, because it’s a Democrat town?

I used to think that the biggest mistake the terrorists could make would be another attack on American soil, but listening to the drivel that’s been coming from the mouths of Dems and Reps alike in Washington, all supported by their constituents back home who “just want to keep our troops safe”, I don’t think America has a spine left to stiffen.

There will be a small minority that get riled up (I’ll be one of ’em) but most folks will support bringing our troops home to “end the violence.”

  13. #9 Says:

    That sums it up.

i can see the headlines now, Cesna 172 hits Grain silo and causes ethonal shortage, gas prices skyrocket, 1 dead at crash site.

I would love to see the recruting offices shut down in a month for the rest of the year, hey they already made mission in a matter of weeks after that sort of attacks.

If only we had a leader with the balls to do what had to be done, this undirected violence will only lead to more violence. You need directed, controled, overwelleming violence to win, we have it but dont want to use it. Just dont get it.

  15. Agpilot Says:

I don’t want to give the terrs any ideas, but 5 two man teams or 10 individuals with the right equipment going in different directions could cripple millions in one night without killing hardly any if anyone at all. The commerce and the economy would be crippled for months. The terrs could wait a week and do it again in another area. They don’t neccessarily have to kill women and children to bring us to our knees. Spend a little time thinking of things that are necessary to our livlihood and the things that are comfort in certain weather. What kind of things do we think of as being necessary that didn’t exist 75-100 years ago that could be taken away easily. Look at the problem one span of bridge is going to cause Minneapolis and for how long. Think of things in rural America that urbania depends on. There are too many urban moonbats that are helpless. Look at NOLA, thousands sitting around screaming, “help us, do something!”

  16. Metulj Says:

Hey, #9: 9 is not a prime number. 911 is prime, but so are an infinite number of other numbers. Numerologist? What is this 1217?

Disutopia? I think you mean dystopia. Personally, I am a topophiliac. As for you ‘watch your 6’ stuff, your fantasies about charging into the breach to protect you and yours can easily be solved by a trip to the recruiting office of your choice.

  18. straightarrow Says:

Rich, you are right suicide attackers aren’t about surviving their deeds. Their deaths may not be a deterrent, but the Hell visited upon muslims in this country could have a very beneficial effect. I do not necessarily mean violence against them. I would expect though that there would little or no patronage in their shops and offices, and other less than violent but effective censures. Those people, are not suicide attackers, but they are not enrolled in the fight against them and they won’t be until they quit sending them money and keeping their secrets. The backlash would almost assuredly guarantee they would exercise that option, thus losing the terrorists much of their base of support.

Dems have decided that winning the Presidency is more important than protecting the country.

Again, your statement is true but misses the mark. Were those attacks to take place the people you are talking about would realize they must do something or they would not only not win the presidency but that a great many of them would be going home, unemployed. The cowardice I alluded to, was not their fear of Islamiya, but their fear of losing their jobs because at the moment they believe the majority of voters won’t punish them for surrender and may even support them in it. That would change dramatically in the event. They would change colors faster than a chameleon.

As to your last two paragraphs, I sincerely hope you are wrong, but I can’t mount much of an argument that you are, because I often feel the same way about it. Feel is the right word, I can’t say I think it so, but then again I can’t say that isn’t because I so want to be wrong that emotion is coloring my opinion of my fellow Americans. This is one of the rare occassions that emotion is a factor in my thinking. Emotion often make me passionate about my opinion, but never forms it. In this case, it may be keeping from a final disposition, a unique situation for me.

  19. #9 Says:

    Chickenhawk!!!!!

I am actually a Chickenhawk evangelist.

  20. Drake Says:

Well…provided they are suicide attackers I would hope there is enough fleshy remnants remaining to slather in pig products.

The Jack Pershing school of thought may be an urban legend. But the bury them with bacon idea has been mentioned in the past. Maybe they hate America because we love our BBQ? And Jack Daniels. And rock. And porn. And so on…

  22. Metulj Says:

So let’s say that a suicide bomber shows up to a Little League ballgame in Paducah, Kentucky. The bomber waits until the game is over, then, as the teams and parents are commingling, the bomber sets off the device killing himself and many others.

Would you be able to spot the bomber?

The answer is “no.” And that is the horrific and evil genius of this sort of attack. The killer knows that the killer will die. Anyone in position to stop the bomber off that the bomber is known triggering the device. You could be armed to the teeth as an CCW’d citizen of the US of A and if you made the bomber, you’d be dead too (because detection causes the device to go boom), and you wouldn’t have stopped that bomber. That is the paradox that Israelis face. They’ve been up against it for years and haven’t solved even the least of it. Why do Americans think they can? Who do you suspect? Who is primed for the attack? Who would kill Americans with a secret bomb?

  23. SayUncle Says:

    Chickenhawk!!!!

  24. straightarrow Says:

Metulj, I can’t answer what I would do. It would be hate speech. I think there would be many others in the same boat. The Israelis know how to stop it. They are just trying to walk a line that satisfies ours and the world’s opinion. I think it is a mistake.

At some point they will be forced to annilhilate their murderous neighbors.

  25. #9 Says:

metulj that was a brilliant treatise on why it is impossible to stop terrorism. So are you suggesting we surrender?

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
