If there’s guns, there must also be neo-nazis

The lefty loons at AlterNet went to the Knob Creek machine gun shoot:

The Knob Creek machine gun shoot in Kentucky attracts thousands of neo-Nazis and other extremists. But the orgy of firepower helps everyone get along just fine.

Interesting though that in the comment on a left wing site you still find people sticking up for the 2nd amendment. Of course, these could be people from gun blogs linking to it, but I’ve generally found people on the far left aren’t really too hot on gun control.

I think gun control is mostly an issue for wealth urban progressive types. What I would call the coffee shop left.

Thinking of going to the October shoot (never been, but have seen the pics in SGN). Anyone been there?

  3. Guav Says:

I don’t think the article is that bad, but the comments are hilariously stupid.

Guav, I don’t know, but the “Leon Trotsky Rifle Range” has a certain charm (as long as you shoot at targets of said Trotsy, plus Lenin, Stalin, Mao, etc.

I think the article sux ’cause it doesn’t have links to the manufacturers websites.

Morris Dees and the Southern Poverty Law Conference have made a good living off of selling that idea.

In their world, if you’re white, conservative, male, Christian, and own guns, then you must also be a Klansman.

Ack, make that Southern Poverty Law Center.

    Alex,

You should probably check it out. We got a Sunday line pass that let us shoot all day on Sunday. If you don’t buy a spot on the line, there is still plenty to do. First off it’s a huge gun show that’s ripe with class 3 pickings. There’s also matches you can enter, and machineguns set up that you can try out (for a price). If that’s not your bag, you can just watch everyone else do that. The night shoot is spectacular.

When I went, I had a blast. Feel free to check out my pics.

Sounds like a great time was had by all.

    Ravenwood,

Many thanks! Know anything about the campground? Me and another former 0311 are making plans to camp, but the knob creek site is a bit sparse on info. Any insight?

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
