Another ED loss
Continuing the theme of all talk, no action comes news that New Mexico’s Governor vetoed an anti-eminent domain bill:
Governor Richardson has vetoed eminent domain legislation.
The measure was intended to prevent state and local governments from using their powers to take property for private development projects.
Richardson said yesterday a number of community officials opposed the measure.
He says the legislation would bring New Mexicans more harm than good.
Well, unless they own property.

Old Mexico can take its citizens’ property whenever it wants to, so why should the new one be any different?

Capt. Holly is correct. Any outside chance Richardson had at being the Dem. nominee has just disappeared, and the somewhat better chance he had at being the Veep nominee just took a bad hit as well.
First, a stupid move because signing the bill would have been the right thing to do. Second, a stupid move because eminen domain abuse is one of the few areas of public policy right now that most people agree on, and he chose the wrong side.

I posted a while back about the fact that I believe your home is the place to make a stand. This would only be prudent in very certain circumstances and you would lose, but, I still believe it.

Private Property rights? WHO told you that you have any such thing?? It is a capitalist idea isn’t it governor? And we all know the Dimocratic party believes only the state should own property, not people.
