Iran is acting like it wants to be next

Bombs going into Iraq may be coming from Iran. Now looky here, Iran. We’re already close and you may way want to knock that crap off. It’s clear our relationship with you is strained and you don’t much care for us. You may want to reconsider this course of action because, sure we’re busy in other parts of the region, but you’re right next door. Just sayin’.

Update: Or maybe not:

Here’s what seems to have really happened: having tried this half-assed story in the UK and had it fall flat, the Pentagon waited a few months then gave it to Ross as a briefing from the usual “anonymous sources” and Ross duly regurgitated it whole without doing a single fact-check or further research.

I can buy that there’s no hard evidence that the Iranian government was involved but I don’t think I’d rule that possibility out.

Where’s the evidence that Iran had anything to do with the IEDs?

This sounds like a load of crap, to me. Man, people sure do love them some war.

    Follow the links. ABC news:

U.S. military and intelligence officials tell ABC News that they have caught shipments of deadly new bombs at the Iran-Iraq border.

“The signature is the same because they are exactly the same in production,” says explosives expert Kevin Barry. “So it’s the same make and model.”

U.S. officials say roadside bomb attacks against American forces in Iraq have become much more deadly as more and more of the Iran-designed and Iran-produced bombs have been smuggled in from the country since last October.

Even Richard Clarke, not a strong supporter of claims in the past, is convinced.

  3. Chris Wage Says:

I’m not interested in Richard Clarke’s opinion. I’m interested in actual evidence.

  4. SayUncle Says:

As i said, follow the links. If you don’t believe they caught shipments, I can’t help you.

  5. Chris Wage Says:

That’s not what I said. They caught shipments crossing the border. That doesn’t mean Iran was directly responsible.

Am I supposed to believe that “certain types of machine-shop welds and material indicating they are built by the same bomb factory” is enough evidence to start gearing up the war machine? (ignoring for the moment that the machine is broken down)

Nevermind that this exact same thing happened last year..

the boy who cried wolf comes to mind…

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
