Funny, I don’t feel like a Neocon

But this quiz says I am. Of course, the framing of the questions/answers doesn’t really reflect my point of view accurately. Via AC.

Be nice if they gave examples of the various types.

I find my self asking “What would Barry (Goldwater) do?”

  2. Nylarthotep Says:

I came up as a realist.

Have to say that several of the questions didn’t have any answers that I felt comfortable choosing.

  3. Adrian’s Adrift » I’m a realist Says:

[…] I’ve always thought of myself as a realist. Most people consider me to be a cynical bastard, but I call it realism. SayUncle linked to a quiz that determines whether you are a neocon. He is one, according to the site, although he doesn’t agree with its assessment. After I took the quiz, it confirmed what I already knew: I’m a realist. The available responses are not that great though. Some of them are like “I like fluffy animals. I love to walk the dog. Sometimes I even like to fry up live octopi like they do in Iron Chef.” […]

Surprise, surprise, I’m a “liberal.” Glad they were able to tell me that, or I might not have known. Although I have to agree with Uncle that they seemed to use leading questions to steer you toward some answers and away from others.

  5. yeah yeah sure sure Says:

    I’m a realist

So says a quiz linked from say uncle..

I found myself picking the one I didn’t necessarily agree with, but that I didn’t strongly disagree with. There seemed to be three touchy-feely it’s America’s fault answers–each with a different rationale why it was the US’s fault, then one that was nuke ’em all and let God sort them out. Didn’t like it much. Also, remembering from the SATs, if one part of the answer’s wrong, that choice isn’t the right answer. By making the answers have so many elements, they almost guarantee that people won’t agree with the answer they choose. For example: Vietnam was: A disaster… B Failure… C quagmire… D… hard won victory

How about: military victory political/PR/keeping-our-word-to-the-South unmitigated disaster.

Three of the answers I disagree with, one I can’t say I agree with.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
